Speaking to the Future:
Tom Butterfield

Tom Butterfield was born in Greeley, Colorado, the son of Dr. Olin J. and Dorothy B. Butterfield. He was brother to Rupert B Butterfield and Virginia R. Butterfield. When Tom was a little boy, his family moved to Denver where his father was a practicing doctor. He moved to the Indian Park area with his aunt, Iris Penley, and attended school at the Indian Park Schoolhouse. Mr. Butterfield graduated from Douglas County High School in 1942. He entered the service and fought in World War II on the European front. He returned to Douglas County in 1947 and married Barbara E. Iler in June of 1948. Mr. Butterfield still lives in Sedalia and has written memoirs of his days in the Indian Park area. Tom has his memoirs with him as he is being interviewed.
