Biography / History

Chronology Note: (Pastor related items in parenthesis are from Parker Methodist Church Collection. Non-parenthesis dates are from "Ministers at Parker" paper in the Ann Andersen Collection)

1907 - Parker is first mentioned in Colorado Annual conference journals as the Franktown-Parker Circuit, Reverend E. M. Shea

1911 - Parker was separated out from Franktown and Fred Varcoe was appointed pastor. Services are held in the schoolhouse in Parker.

1911 - Plans begin by J. P. Varner and Dr. Heath for the construction of a church building. Dr. Heath donated the land and "a liberal amount of money"

1912 - Arman (or Orman) C. King was appointed pastor.

1913 (May 25) - Dedication of the church by Bishop Francis J. McConnell. Rev. Orman C. King was the pastor, followed by F. W. Pimlott and Henry J. Catterall.

1914 - Charter members were received. C. M. Kennaugh was the pastor. The basement of the church was completed through the efforts of the ladies aid society and the Epworth League.

1917 - Reverend Clark Cottrell succeeded Kennaugh as pastor.

1918 - Henry C. Mecklenburg, minister and church architect, served as the pastor.

1920 - Parsonage was built by this time. Reverend R. O. Gaither was serving as pastor, as was M. W. Forsyth.

1921 - V.V. Whitsitt was pastor.

1922 - M.C. Dorsett was pastor.

1923 - M.T. Habgood was pastor.

1924 - B.G. McCormick was pastor.

1925 - H.D. Graetz was pastor.

1926 - O.C. Barrow (or P. C. Barrow) was pastor.

1927-1929 - M.D. Kober (or M.B. Kober) was pastor.

1930-1932 - J. Dean King (or J. A. Dean) was pastor.

1933-1934 - L. C. Sarah was pastor?

1935 - Clarence Pierce (or Clarence R. Peirce [sic]) was pastor.

1936 - Austin (L.?) McGhee was pastor.

1938-1939 - H.I. Woolard (Harold I. Woolard) was pastor.

1940 - Erivin Kiel (Edwin Kiel) was pastor.

1941-1942 - C.S. Mundell was pastor.

1943 - Lucy Sands was pastor.

1944 - E.J. Jenkinson (or E. S. Jenkinson) was pastor.

1945 - N.E. Carden (Noel E. Carden) was pastor.

1947-1948 (or 1946-1950) - Glen R. Barber was pastor.

1949 (or 1950-1951) - Horace Mounts was pastor.

1950 (or 1951) - Jonathan Drake was pastor.

1951-1953 (or 1952-1954) - Dwight Harshman was pastor.

1954-1955 - David Lehmberg was pastor.

1956 - Robert F. Wade was pastor.

1957 - A. Robert Corbin was pastor.

1958-1962 - Reuben Staniforth was pastor.

1963-1965 - Lee Kendall was pastor.

1967-1968 - Edward E. Pease was pastor.

1969 - David Stile and C. T. Hawes were pastors.

1970 - Dale McArthur was pastor.

1997 - Church moved into new building on Highway 83.
