Arranged chronologically by year, with financial records behind the other items.

Scope and Content

The Records of the Parker Breakfast Club document the membership and activities of the group between 1973 and 1999. There are gaps in the membership lists, most notably for the period between 1975 and 1987. The collection also contains financial records for the group, including bank statements, deposit slips and receipts for breakfasts from the Village Inn. Some correspondence with the group is also included throughout the collection, as are leaflets and presentation material from various speakers, schedules of speakers and subjects for future meetings, and newspaper articles about the meetings and items of interest. The collection does not contain any material for the year 1998.

Biography / History

The Parker Breakfast Club was started in the 1970’s by a group of individuals in Parker who felt that Parker’s voice was not being heard in county politics. The club used to meet in a church basement and cook breakfast while meeting with Castle Rock people. In later years, they met in an area restaurant, the Village Inn in Parker (19502 East Parker Square Drive, Parker, CO).

Over the years, the topics discussed have included Outward Bound, Habitat for Humanity, Up With People, Citizens against Crime, political candidates, and the growth of Parker.
